RHR is a sanctuary for animals and a counseling center for people founded on hope and healing made available to all regardless of ability to pay.

Due to HIPAA privacy laws and the medical needs of our animals, we cannot have volunteers work with the animals. If you’d like to help at an event or in the office, contact (940) 240-0500 or email us at [email protected] for further information.

EAAC stands for Equine and Animal Assisted Counseling, a psychotherapy that helps emotionally hurting individuals build a relationship with a horse or other animal to bring about transformation and healing. Learn More

EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. Repeated studies show that through EMDR therapy, people can rapidly experience the benefits of psychotherapy that once took years to take effect.

We are not a riding therapy program, and only specialize in helping people overcome the negative effects of trauma. Riding therapy centers traditionally focus on treating physical challenges and cognitive disorders. CLICK HERE TO READ MORE

We try to provide any assistance we can when it comes to getting people the therapy they need on a budget. When funds are available, financial aid for counseling services is an option for qualified clients. CLICK HERE TO SEE OUR SERVICES & FEES

We help a wide variety of farm animals, but do not help family pets. The list below seems to be the average variety of animals we have in our sanctuary at any given time:

Ranch Hands Rescue animals typically come from law enforcement officials. However, we do take critical care animals from other sources on a case by case basis. If you are aware of an animal being abused or neglected or have concerns for the welfare of an animal, contact your local sheriff or law enforcement officials.
